People are being urged to check their washing machines due to safety concerns following a product recall.
Whirlpool is reminding customers in Liverpool to check if their washing machine is affected by the product recall, which was launched in January, so the company can provide a free replacement or repair if needed.
The issue affects certain Hotpoint and Indesit washing machines which were manufactured between 2014 and 2018. It does not concern Whirlpool branded appliances.
The washing machines affected were designed by Indesit and began manufacture prior to Whirlpool’s acquisition of the company in late 2014. These products met all safety and regulatory standards at the time of their manufacture.

Towards the end of 2019, Whirlpool identified a potential risk concerning certain models of Hotpoint and Indesit branded washing machines manufactured between 2014 and 2018.
Since launching the recall campaign, more than four million people have contacted Whirlpool with more than 95% already given reassurance and peace of mind that their machine is not affected.
Of the 263,000 customers who have registered an affected model so far, over 93% have already been fully resolved.
