Concord Public Works’ Water and Sewer Division recently announced two rebate opportunities:
High-Efficiency Toilet Rebate: $100, limit of two per account.
High-Efficiency Clothes Washer Rebate: $150, limit of one per household.
Concord Public Works’ Water & Sewer Division is offering a limited number of rebates to residential and commercial Concord Water customers replacing older, water-guzzling 3.5-gallon per flush toilets with water-efficient WaterSense labeled 1.28 gallon per flush models.
WaterSense, a program sponsored by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, is helping consumers identify high performance water-efficient products that can reduce water use in the home and help preserve our water resources. More information can be found at https://epa.govwatersense. Recent advancements have allowed toilets to use 20% less water than the current federal standard while still providing equal or superior performance. The WaterSense label is used on toilets that are certified by independent laboratory testing to meet rigorous criteria for both performance and efficiency. Only high-efficiency toilets that complete the third-party certification process can earn the WaterSense label.
Toilets are among the top water using appliances in the home, accounting for nearly 20% of indoor water consumption. Toilets also happen to be a major source of wasted water due to leaks or inefficiency. Replacing old, inefficient toilets with WaterSense labeled models can reduce water used for toilets by up to 60%, saving water and money with every flush. WaterSense labeled toilets combine high efficiency with high performance. Design advances enable WaterSense labeled toilets to save water with no trade-off in flushing power.
